Results Of The Selected PollQuestion:Do you support a new job-creation programme to bring Bristol's empty homes back into use? Our Opinion:There is a great opportunity to create new jobs in this recession by commissioning charities and social enterprises to refurbish or rennovate empty homes in Bristol. The cost of employing people to do the work would be more than covered by the rental or resale value of an empty home brought back into use. Not only would this add to Bristol's overall housing stock, (and be, in my view, preferable to building new homes on green spaces or in already dense areas of housing), but it would provide vital skills and experience to local people. I am keen to get people's opinions on this before taking it to the next stage. Your Opinion:55%
Yes I agree that this should be tried, as long as all the costs of refurbishment and rennovation are covered from the rental or resale income.

Yes I agree that this should be tried, and it would be worthwhile even if the Council invested new money into this job-creation scheme.

No, I do not agree that this should be tried. We should be building new homes instead.
